Admission Requirements
Both Chinese and foreign students can apply to the MacDuffie School. Although most of our students come from China, at the same time, we also recognize that the diversity of student groups is conducive to enhancing the awareness of internationalization. Chinese students can have an increased international mind and vision in this diversified environment. International students will also gain and increased understanding and appreciation of Chinese language and culture.
In line with Chinese public schools, students applying for pre-school or first grade must be at least five or six years old before August 31st of the year of enrollment. Applicants for pre-school classes do not need to have a certain level of English or Chinese.
Applicants for Grade one and above need to have certain level of Chinese and English skills to transition to the immersive bilingual teaching in the corresponding grade.
Application requirements and deadlines
Applicants should complete the application process by the deadline to ensure that it enters into the review stage.
Learning Support
The school will provide additional support to students who are highly gifted or have difficulties in learning. Our Center for Students Development (CSD) will help students learn and progress. As needed, the center will develop academic support plans for these students, provide them with convenient conditions to adapt to their abilities and continuous case management, and assist in the contact and communication between off- campus professionals and schools, families and teachers.
Scholarship
The MacDuffie School wants to receive the best applicants, and we recognize that many talented children may not be able to afford our tuition fees, so we have established a Scholarship Program based on the outstanding performance of our students. In addition to filling out the Application Form, families wishing to apply for a scholarship should complete a Scholarship Application Form.
Admission Results
The admission process for MacDuffie School will be very strict. We cannot accept all applicants. If your child has not been accepted, the reasons are as follows: 1. The School Curriculum is not suitable for your child. 2.The class or grade is full. After the admission results are announced, the applicant will not be able to resubmit or modify the application materials, but we recommend that parents can apply again in the next school year.
Overdue Application
All application materials must be completed before the deadline of the first round of application. If there is a vacancy, we will review the overdue applicants in the rolling enrollment list from late April.
Deferred Enrollment
The admission result is only valid in the year of entry and cannottransfer to the following year.
Gifts
We fully understand the gratitude of the applicant to the work of the Admissions Department, but we should try our best to avoid unnecessary interference and influence in the whole admission process. In order to ensure the fairness, all members of the school's admission teachers will not accept money or gifts of any value in any form from parents, their friends, relatives or any other related personnel at any time.
