First of all, on behalf of The MacDuffie Schools, allow me to extend our sincere greetings and deepest respect to all the staff who are working in the front line of the epidemic. Thank you for being the people who are working so hard to fight this new disease and to protect the public throughout the world.
Due to the ongoing and evolving situation surrounding the coronavirus, we wanted to send out a message to all of our community. This is so that I can update you about the excellent work our schools and staff are doing to ensure that the student education will not be disrupted, no matter what the future circumstances may hold.
The MacDuffie School is closely monitoring the situation and health circumstances of all of our families and staff. The school will do all it can to support every member of its community to ensure safety and to deliver a well-planned and quality education to our students. The school will follow the rules set out by the Government and also will be a stable and honourable port of safety for all. To do this, the school has set out the following plan.
The school will physically reopen according the rules and advice from the local authorities. Currently, the school will remain closed until Monday 17th February 2020. The opening date of the school will be confirmed through future updates.
The International students will be issued with work and introduced to a new online education platform within the coming days. Teachers will be starting online lessons which will meet our high standards of education and all learning plans and syllabuses will be followed as normal. Attendance of our online learning platform will be fully credited and meet all academic requirements of The MacDuffie School. Students will be required to complete the work and full assistance will be made available to them through the school, teachers and class managers.
Please rest assured that school management is working hard to ensure that the high, internationally recognised standards of The MacDuffie School will be maintained throughout, that the situation will not affect the education of the students and that full support will be given to every student.
Further information will be sent out regularly to make sure our community has all the information that is needed to maintain their spirits and keep positive. We can make the most of our situation, study and education will mean that we can stay focused, have purpose and aim for our improvement, using time efficiently and positively for the benefit of us all.
